If love is the treasure, laughter is the key.
This post is a pictorial of sorts. Expressed with more pictures than words, in fact a lot more photos than usual.
For our 20th wedding anniversary we went to Key West, Fl. A beautiful city located in the southernmost point in the United States jammed packed with water sport activities, lively nightlife, beaches and historic sites. Duval Street is a treat in itself. The most favorite thing I love about Key West is its charm! It’s so quirky and bohemian with so much character.
We drove to Fort Myers, Fl
Hopped on the Key West Express http://www.seakeywestexpress.com
There are three levels: The inside, second deck and top deck. We sat on the top deck of course and relaxed while the sun shined on my face and the wind blew through my locs for approximately 4 1/2 hours. It was WONDERFUL!!
Food and drinks are served on board as well.
Upon arriving in Key West the view was beautiful. It was fantastic getting away from all the rain we left back home in Tampa.
We walked to our hotel located on Duval Street…Yaaaay!
Rested a bit before we hit the streets.
The following images are things we saw while in Key West. I could get very use to living on an island 🙂
The island is extremely clean and the plants/flowers are fabulous. It’s super hot and very humid so be prepared to stay hydrated. Water is best but passing up a snow cone isn’t easy.
Learn the history! At this point you’re 90 miles to Cuba.
I never knew Hemingway lived here!
I did not know the U.S. Navy had a base here. Imagine being stationed here. Yaaaaay!
Bicycles, motorcycles, mopeds, electric cars, trolleys and everyday foot traffic is not uncommon here as the main mode of transportation.
Yes! I just love this place! The architecture, the people, the scenery, the food … all my eyes saw I wanted to photograph.
Even my husband couldn’t resist taking a few photos… and he’s not someone who normally picks up a camera lol
And of course we ate some pretty terrific food!
Well, I guess I’ll end it here but trust me I have hundreds of photos I didn’t get to share….lol.. but you get the point.
We had a very nice time in Key West. I have a feeling we’ll be back soon. They seem to know me so well, they even had this shirt waiting for me….
