I’m baaaaaack! 🙂 I know I’ve been away for way to long. Sorry guys, I promise there will be more posts coming later.
You never know what a simple greeting and kind word(s) could lead to.
If I had not said these simple words, “I love your skirt!” I would not have the fabulous high-waisted maxi skirt I’m wearing here today.
A woman walk into an event I was attending. She was wearing a gorgeous high-waisted african print maxi skirt. I immediately leaned over to my husband and said, “Oh my goodness, I love her skirt”. Once I saw she was walking towards me I instantly and literally reached out, tapped her, smiled and said, “I love your skirt”. She replied back, “Thank you, I made it.” My mouth dropped open. Everything about her skirt screamed quality. The construction of the garment and the way she wore it looked tailored, crisp, sophisticated, chic …just beautiful. I asked if she had a card and before we left the event I had her card. Her name is Janie M. Davis and owner of A Taste of Grace. I emailed her as soon as I got home that night.
Despite being in town for only a couple of days for personal pleasure and not business:
- Janie stopped by JoAnn’s Fabric to get a tape measure.
- She and her husband stop by my home before leaving town.
- She took my measurements.
- Stayed in constant communication.
- Shared several fabric/print options via text.
- Shipped the final garment to me via priory mail.
I could not be happier with her work. I’m so very happy I spoke to her that day. I think she is amazing because she is a genuinely friendly person. She’s so delightful to be around.
When I received my skirt I immediately tried it own, snapped the photo below, sent it to Janie and told I loooooooove it!
When time permitted I wore it again, slightly styled differently and photographed it with my Canon EOS 5D Mark ii camera. See photos below:
- Thank you Janie for the skirt!
- Thank you to all my supporters, followers, friends & family
